About Centre Stage

Centre Stage, for Leicestershire and Rutland, was formed in 2000 and is coordinated by Nottinghamshire County Council on behalf of the Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire rural touring partnership. The scheme is managed by Leicestershire's Local Arts Development Forum of Local Authority officers and managed by the Local Arts Development Forum of Local Authority Officers at County and District level with funding from Arts Council England and all the local authorities.

Centre Stage hosts approximately 130 live professional shows a year including drama, dance, music of all varieties, opera, physical theatre, comedy and cabaret, puppetry and children's theatre across a wide range of village and community venues in the two counties. The scheme is dedicated to providing local people with opportunities to choose and promote arts events to be presented in their local venue.

We work with over 100 promoters and venues including village halls, community centres, churches, college theatres and schools - in fact any community space with a local community group.
